This class is perfect for sewists who already have experience using a sewing machine — you don’t need to have completed our full sewing series, just a basic understanding of threading, winding a bobbin, and stitching straight seams.
During the session you will:

Get ready for a lucky and creative crafting experience! 🍀 In this one-hour St. Patrick’s Day Pompom Gnome Class, kids ages 6 and up will learn how to use a pompom maker to create fluffy pom-poms and turn them into an adorable St. Paddy’s Day gnome!
Participants will design their gnome with festive green yarn and create a cute leprechaun-style beanie hat using yarn and a toilet paper roll. They can add fun holiday touches like shamrocks, gold accents, or even a tiny “pot of gold” detail before assembling their lucky gnome to take home.

This workshop builds on the techniques learned in Sewing level 1. In this session, you'll create a fully lined pouch with a zipper — from the very first stitch to the final finishing touch! You’ll gain hands-on experience installing a zipper, adding a fabric lining, and assembling the pouch, all while putting your previously learned sewing skills to good use. We recommend bringing your own sewing machine if possible. If you do, please ensure it’s in good working order and includes a zipper foot attachment. Don’t worry — we have a few machines available to borrow if needed! Class Length: 1:30 to 2 hours. What You’ll Make: A custom, zippered pouch!

In the second part, we’ll explore key techniques such as turning your work, increasing, decreasing, and working in the round. You’ll also get practical guidance on reading yarn labels and selecting the appropriate hook sizes, so you can confidently choose materials for future projects.
